The Lookout Tree

Internationally-acclaimed stickwork artist Patrick Dougherty brings his spectacular sculpture to the beautiful setting of the McConnell Gardens. Mr. Dougherty spent three weeks working with willow gathered from Turtle Bay and surrounding areas to create The Lookout Tree, a site-specific work of art.  Stop by the Gardens to see this amazing piece of environmental art.

Wings of Summer: Birds! & Butterflies! (May 1 - September 28, 2008)

Summer takes flight with two enchanting seasonal exhibits. View colorful exotic birds in a walk-in aviary in our Birds! exhibit. Get closer by feeding them! Returning for a tenth season is one of Turtle Bay's most popular exhibits, Butterflies! Visitors view hundreds of butterflies in a tranquil, enclosed garden. In Paul Bunyan's Forest Camp.

Rock Penjing (May 16 - October 21, 2008)

Experience the intersection of art, nature and horticulture in the ancient Chinese art form Penjing. See the marvelous miniature landscapes that capture that country's soaring mountains and unique greenery. In the McConnell Garden's Pacific Rim Garden.
