The Art of Dr. Seuss: A Retrospective Exhibition & Traveling Sculpture Garden
-

exhibition overview

Presented by Shasta Regional Medical Center, The Art of Dr. Seuss is a celebration of the art and life of Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss).  Re-created from significant public and private collections, including the University of California San Diego archives, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library, and the Estate of Dr. Seuss, and featuring rare and never-before-seen images from the 1920s to ’90s, the exhibition chronicles the common artistic links found throughout his 65 years of creativity.

Witness Seuss's classic illustration art from The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Yertle the Turtle and The Lorax, as well early magazine covers, advertising pieces, war commentary, his whimsical unorthodoxed taxidermy, and an amazing assortment of larger-than-life bronze sculptures!

Round out your experience curled up on a couch or bean bag in the reading area with one of more than 40 Dr. Seuss's classics. Or check out one of thirteen Seuss books brought to life on one of two iPads (digital books courtesy of Oceanhouse Media).

Supported by Bank of Commerce Redding.  Additional support from Ron Reece, M.D., Chad, Shanna, Aiden and Lane Cannon and PremierWest Bank.
