Plant Talk: Drought and Heat-Adapted Plants: Mediterranean Basin Garden

On a presumably toasty summer morning we will walk through the Botanical Gardens to see numerous drought-tolerant (mostly evergreen) Mediterranean Basin native plants. We will observe how they fare in high summer temperatures in Redding with low water. Many tough and fascinating plants from throughout the Mediterranean region have grown and thrived here over the years, with little summer watering. These plants are also ideal for local gardens!
