Science Saturday: People of the Forest

Forests play an important role in our lives. We use forest products every day from the food we eat to the paper we use. Forests provide clean air, water, and economic opportunities. Join us and smokejumpers from the US Forest Service to learn about the art of crosscut sawing (and even give it a try!) and things you can do to help care for the natural resources around us. Come meet Smokey Bear and learn about fire prevention from 1 – 2 pm in the Museum!

Family 2nd Saturday: Breathtaking Bugs

What they lack in size they make up for in numbers! From butterflies to earthworms, bugs come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. This month, join our volunteers and educators as we discover what makes these creepy crawlies tick. Assemble your own butterfly wings, meet an entomologist (a bug scientist) and learn how to dance like a bee.
