Our ever-popular, heirloom vegetables are featured at the Spring plant sale and they sell out fast! Additionally, we also have an enormous stock of unusual, drought-tolerant, hard-to-find perennials, shrubs and trees, as well as California native plants and a wide variety of sought-after ornamental grasses, all grown here in our Nursery and acclimated to Redding’s vigorous climatic conditions. Sale includes a 25% discount for the public and a 35% discount for Turtle Bay members. New Memberships are available for purchase at the Nursery.

Drought and heat tolerant gardening aren’t limited to cacti and rock. Low water gardens can be colorful, interesting and attract lots of pollinators.  Join Turtle Bay Horticulture volunteer, Kelly Williams, for a vivid PowerPoint tour of xeriscape possibilities for the Redding climate. Weather permitting, there will be a short walk into the botanical gardens following the presentation. This session will be taught by Certified Arborist Rico Montenegro of the Fruit Tree Planting Foundations.. Learn about fruit tree selection, IPM or natural techniques of pest control, soils and fertilization, how to train young and newly planted trees and pruning methods that include ways to maintain fruit trees in a compact or reduced size. Also learn an introduction on how to restore old, neglected and abused fruit trees and information applicable to all types of trees.
