Every child deserves the opportunity to explore, learn, and play at Turtle Bay!
Each year we welcome more than 15,000 students and chaperones on field trips from across Northern California and beyond. These field trip groups come not only from Shasta, Tehama, Butte, Trinity, and Siskiyou counties, but also as far as Oregon, the Bay Area, and the North Coast. Many of these students come from schools that may lack resources to provide rich, out-of-classroom learning experiences.
To make our field trips accessible to all, we work hard to keep costs low. This includes offering reduced ticket prices, subsidized chaperone fees, and specialized programming aligned with curriculum standards. But rising costs make it harder each year to meet this commitment. That’s where you come in.
With your help, we can continue offering hands-on learning experiences that enrich lives. From live animal encounters to garden explorations, and immersive lessons in local history, science, and art, students develop critical thinking, deepen their understanding of the world, and discover the joy of learning in a setting unlike any classroom.
Children get to see first-hand what they may have only read about—a golden eagle up close, a root system underground, a gallery of professional artwork. Those moments ignite imagination and change lives!
Will you help us fund these invaluable learning opportunities for students in our region in the coming school year?
