Forest Adventure Playground

Turtle Bay’s Forest Adventure playground is designed to be a fun and adventurous experience for older children (and adults!) that mimics the forestry experience. Guests can climb a large tower for a bird’s eye view of the Park, similar to one shared from fire lookouts and by loggers who scale trees; or slide down a long and low zip line, reminiscent of logging arch pulleys. The playground also features adult sized swings, a large rock wall, super slide and more. Access to the Forest Adventure Playground is free for members and included with Park admission.

This playground is the most recent inclusion from the Park’s Forestry Forward Project and is complimented by Babe’s Corral, a playground for younger children, as well as the Mill Building. Turtle Bay would like to thank many major funders that made the completion of this project possible, including The California Cultural and Historical Endowment, The KBK Foundation, The Ben B. Cheney Foundation, Shasta Regional Community Foundation’s McConnell Grant, and First 5 Shasta.

Babe's Corral is officially OPEN and ready for action! Part of the larger Forestry Forward Project—an extensive, multi-phase renovation of Paul Bunyan’s Forest Camp in its 20th anniversary year—Babe’s Corral is the newest forest-themed playground attraction for our youngest guests. This play area includes a balance log, ADA accessible nest swing, log tunnel, Osprey nest with slide, “Babe the Blue Ox” themed climber, par course designed to support muscle growth and confidence, rambling flume, and talk tube.

Babe’s Corral includes a variety of play structures designed for young children, all of which are completely fenced to divide this safe area for little ones from the larger Forest Camp where older children are at play. Babe’s Corral addresses a broad spectrum of play needs through opportunities for fantasy and socio-cooperative play, and offers parents a wonderful chance to engage fully with their children in a safe and secure environment.
