I’m Loved Originals!!
Although my journey to mosaics started as a young girl I’ve been a mosaic artist since 2010, with a brick mason father and bothers I was exposed to the art of working with stone, brick mortar and grout very young. My dad would bring me to work with them mixing mortar and help with carrying stone, brick, and block.
Many years later it was during a visit to Dunsmuir with my good friend that we encountered a mosaic made with smashed plates situated on a wall, intrigued by the way it stirred my creativity I excitedly made my first mosaic after returning home. I am self taught and have learned through trial and error creating one of a kind mosaics. Each of my pieces has an I’m Loved tile somewhere in the mosaic which is where I came up with the name I’m Loved Originals.
I create mosaics for public, residential and corporate settings nationwide. I also do school and community projects including teaching mosaics in my studio and classrooms at public schools. I’m always happy to share my love of mosaics.
Artist Statement
When I first started making mosaics over 15 years ago I knew I found an art form that inspired me. I felt comfortable making and finding different tesserae to design custom mosaics, one of a kind pieces. I put a lot of thought into my designs so I truly become attached by the time they are completed.
By 2013/2014 I was selling my art at Moonstone Bistro, Strawhouse Resort, Soleus, and McCormick Manson. I now do more art galleries and commission mosaics making my own tiles has opened my mind to more ideas for future mosaics.
In 2018 thru Redding Rec I started teaching mosaic art in my studio at Chain Gang Bike Shop, never expecting the incredible friendships that would blossom from it. The shared creativity has led to connections with truly wonderful people, that have become lifelong friends.
