Paleontologists wanted! Did you know that Redding was once under an ocean full of dinosaurs? This hands-on exhibition, curated by the American Museum of Natural History and circulated by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, explores how fossils contribute to our global understanding of our planet’s past. Featuring large-scale skeletons and interactive investigations, the story centers around newly discovered fossils found in the African nation of Angola that correlate to our local prehistoric environment. These fossils give us a new perspective on this ancient world and fresh evidence to understand how our Earth has changed over time, even right here in Redding.
