Paleontologists wanted! Did you know that Redding was once under an ocean full of dinosaurs? This hands-on exhibition explores how fossils contribute to our global understanding of our planet’s past. Featuring large-scale skeletons and interactive investigations, the story centers around newly discovered fossils found in the African nation of Angola that correlate to our local prehistoric environment. These fossils give us a new perspective on this ancient world and fresh evidence to understand how our Earth has changed over time, even right here in Redding.

Sea Monsters Unearthed was created by the National Museum of Natural History and organized for travel by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. It is made possible by ISEM at Southern Methodist University, with thanks to Projecto PaleoAngola.
